When I first moved to Lisbon three years ago, I found myself completely starting over. As an entrepreneur venturing into the SaaS industry in a new country, everything felt unfamiliar. I lacked connections, cultural knowledge, and resources. The challenges of building a business from scratch in a foreign environment seemed daunting.At first, I tried to apply the same broad approaches I had used back home. However, without a deep understanding of the local landscape, my efforts met dead ends. Attempts to scale quickly led to missteps. I realized I needed new strategies tailored to this ecosystem.My breakthrough came when I tapped into local vibrant local startup community. Making connections with other founders navigating similar hurdles opened my eyes to what it takes to succeed here. Their insights and support gave me traction. I also formed a mastermind group which was invaluable for shaping my business strategy.Once equipped with targeted strategies based on local expertise, I began achieving consistent milestones. My SaaS product steadily found product-market fit. Marketing campaigns driven by referral programs and partnerships saw sustainable growth.
